A Spy up in the Sky

A spy satellite is an observatory satellite used for the inspection purpose. It is used to take pictures of places on earth where it is focussed to and it is then descended to the earth. It is mainly for the surveillance purposes of some selected areas on the earth.

Today, these spy satellites are launched by some developed countries like US, Japan, China, Russia, Germany, UK etc. They are low orbit satellites and hence provide very high resolution pictures. Today these satellites are being used by these countries to monitor other country's military base and their arsenal.

Recently a US spy satellite lost control. US first planned to deploy it in the orbit itself, but because of the stiff opposition from the other countries, it was allowed to fall into the earth on its own. These satellites are known to contain some toxic chemicals and are harmful to the earth. Despite the voices of other countries, this has been going on for quite sometime. Hope these satellites are used for the welfare of the people like finding out mineral rich areas etc.
