Reliance To Introduce Multi-Player Games

Reliance has planned to Introduce Multi-player games along with CanvasM for mobile phones in India. CanvasM is actually a collaboration of Motorola and Tech Mahindra.

It is planning to introduce around 15 multi player games for the Reliance mobiles. Along with these games, Reliance is also planning to introduce chatting options and also facilitate advertisers to display their messages.

This will help the Reliance customers to invite other players to compete with each other, however it comes with a constraint of paying around Rs.99 /- per month to download these games to the mobile phone.

Mobile gaming is a million dollar industry in India and continues to grow exponentially every year. Probably this might be the reason why Reliance has suddenly jumped into this sector. Stiff competition would bring more and more advanced multi player games that would in the end benefit the users.

Printed bills for Mobile Users

Telecom regulator Trai on Thursday mandated all mobile phone service providers to provide a hard copy of the bill at free of cost to all its post-paid subscribers. The order would come into effect from January 24th and would be applicable across all types of tariff plans of mobile GSM and CDMA and also for fixed line services.

Trai had proposed to Telecommunication Tariff Order for the same early this month, under which a hard copy or printed copy of the bill has to be given to all postpaid customers of telecom access service at free of cost.

It said that the provision of the hard copy would enable the subscribers to understand and satisfy themselves about the genuineness of the bill, verify the charges among other things.

The main drawback in the phone is the operating speed , which is very pathetic, otherwise it is a great phone to own.

Seeing something is a task with everyone can do, but see things with the eyes closed is not everyone can accomplish. But there’s one such species that can do this, its called as a Skink. It belongs to the lizard family.

The Skinks have shiny skin and very thin legs. They are able to do this as they have a transparent eye lid. While burrowing and eating insects, they eat with their eyes closed. As the eye lids are transparent, they can see with their eyes closed.

But you might ask the purpose of the eye lid. It’s there just to protect the eyes. It is to protect their eyes from dust and sand, nothing else.

They Call it Science ?

Off late, we have all been hearing about the pathetic whaling going on in the Antarctic. What is really happening there ? On Thursday, Australia released some shocking pictures of Japanese fleets hunting down the whales. It was really a gruesome as you can see from the pics above.

Reports suggest that Japan is on its way to hunt down about 1000 minke and fin whales this summer in the Antarctic. History says that Japanese hunted down about 7000 minke whales over the past 20 years. Japanese officials argue that its for the purpose of research, but in reality, the meat is considered as a delicacy in Japanese and is widely super markets and in restuarents.

"Science" is the brand name given to this inhuman activity. Despite repeated warnings by the International Court of Justice, Japan does not seem to stop this in near future. If this continues, the beautiful Blue whales would disappear from the Earth in a decade or two. Something has to be done immediately.

NOTE : Photos of whale's intestines coming out after it was hit by a harpoon have also been released by the Australian Fisheries and Custom Patrol Ships from the Southern Ocean.

Dasaavatharam

Oscar Ravichandran producer of the big-budget Kamal Hasan extravaganza "Dasavatharam" in which the actor appears in 10 roles , has officially announced that the film will be released on April 10. The film will simultaneously open in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film's audio launch is expected to be on first week of march. The important news is that Himmesh Reshammiya , who directs the music , will not be doing the BGM and re-recording as he has now become a busy Bollywood actor ! But nothing to worry about, as the hot and happening music director of south, Devi Sri Prasad is going to do the re-recording.

Recent exploration activity in the northern region of India uncoverd skeletal remains of a gigantic human. This region of the indian desert is called as the Empty Quarter. This discovery of this skeletal remains of phenomenal size was made by the National Geographic Team (India), but with the support from the Indian Army as this area comes under their jurisdiction.

The exploration team has reportedly also found some tablets with inscription that stated that our gods of Indian mythologicalyore, "Brahma" had crated people of phenomenal size the like of which he has not created since. They were very tall, big and had immense power, enough to put their arms around a tree trunk and uproot it. They were created to bring order amongst us since we were always fighting with each other. One of the sons of Bheema of the Pandava brothers is also thought of carrying these genes. Later, these people who were given these powers had turned against all ourGods, and transgressed all the defined boundaries. As a result, they were believed to have been destroyed by Lord Shiva. This Geo team believes these to be the remains of such people.

Racoon is one such peculiar animal that washes its food which makes it an interesting animal to knowabout. Most racoons wash their food, and there have been instances when not able to find water to wash, they refused to eat. However, they have also been known to eat food when they could find water nearby.

Nobody really knows why racoons wash their food. They do not seem to wash it in an attempt to clean it, since they even wash their food in muddy water. The reason for them washing the food might possiblybe because of their like towards water.

Racoons are usually grey in colour, sometimes tinged with yellow or brown. It is bushy, ring tailed which is app. 25cm long, dark brown in colour. Racoons live in places where there is water and treesfor dens. They find their prey in muddy water. They also feed on nuts, berries, fruits and on young corn.

The conclusion is racoons wash their food not only for cleaning but also to make their food tastier.Howevev, the sad part is that they are hunted down in huge numbers for their fur and meat.

For many hundred years, man has always grown birds as pets. Mostly man has been close to parrots and mynas. Both these birds can be taught to speak like humans. Ever wonder how these birds can do this ? Some people believe that because the parrots have tongue similar to humans, they do this. But why couldn’t the eagles and hawks do it ?



The real fact is that the parrots and mynas are brilliant when compared to other birds. The speech and reception mechanisms of these birds are slow. In fact, they cannot recognize what they themselves are speaking. But because of the fact that they are brilliant, they can clearly follow our lip movements and can very easily reproduce that same tone as that of ours.

Bird flu, or avian influenza, is a viral disease that causes illness in many species of birds. It's been around for more than 100 years, and there are 15 different types of it.

What is H5N1 ?
This is the subtype of one strain which is currently causing worldwide concern. But even this subtype has its own variations, and it can be a lethal kind (higly pathogenic), or it can be mild (low pathogenic).

Reasons to get panic !
This subtype can jump into different species from birds which makes it quite unusual. So far the H5N1 strain has infected more than 250 people, mainly in south east Asia, and caused 164 deaths between January 2003 and September 2006. Most animal viruses never affect humans.

Can it pass between people?
The happy news is that till now there has not been any human-to-human transmission. All the cases reported were from birds to people only.

What makes it mutate?
This flu virus mutates every time it replicates. This could mix with a normal human flu strain, and create a new virus. Or it might simply evolve into a form which was easier to spread.

What are the first symptoms?
In south-east Asia, the early symptoms have been high temperature and coughing. Within 3 days however, their breathing had become more worse. When the disease becomes fully communicable between people, it is likely that the disease will have its own symptoms - but these may still like normal flu in the beginning.

Can it be treated?
There are some drugs known as inhibitors, which to some extent acts as an antidote. It does prevent people who are infected, but it helps people once they have the early symptoms, but it may not work for everyone.

Hence, till date, the bird flu is a deadly epidemic and the people have to be very cautious and report to the concerned person immediately if they find the behavior of the birds to be abnormal.

Well, i am sure most of you would agree if i tell that Mosquito is the world's most dangerous insect. It's true as the mosquitoes account for millions of death worldwide, per year. The mosquitoes are believed to be carriers of countless disease carrying microbes that are instrumentalin causing life threatenng diseases like West Nile viral fever, Yellow fever, Dengue fever and Malaria. But, encephalitis is considered to be the deadliest of all. Some mosquito-borne diseases arealso known to occur amongst animals. The spread of disease occurs when a female mosquito bites an infected person and then bites the uninfected person. During this process, the mosquito leaves the trace of virus on the uninfected person. Mosquitoes kill more people than any other single factor. Hence they are believed to be the most dangerous insect in the world.

Sky Rocketing Computer Sales

Every sector is directly or indirectly related with computer based operations. This is evident fromthe increasing sales of computers every year. In India, the computer sales rose by a whopping figure of 20% in 2007 compared to last year's sales. 2007 saw a sale of 6.5m computers against 5.4m in 2006.

HP continued to lead with a market share of 21%, followed by HCL at 13% and then by Lenovo at 10%. This increase in sales is expected to reach to a 25% increase in 2008 and continue with an increase percentage of 20% for the next 4 years. With all these predictions, the PC manufacturers are said to be in a potentially profitable position, atleast for the next 5 years.

Not only India, even worldwide, the sales of computers have always been on the increasing side and noton the decline. This is because of the ever increasing demand and the advantages associated with the use of computers.

Super Scuba Car

Not many things we see in the cinema becomes a truth. But it has come true this time for sure. We all might have seen the film 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. In this film, our very own James Bond would drive a car that would roll even in the water bed. This was taken as an inspiration, and has now been named the 'sQuba Car'.

The new Rinspeed sQuba car can glide under water just like a submarine at the push of a button. The Jet propeller and drive system propels the car under water, even upto a depth of 35 feet. The car will be launched at the Geneva Car Show. The car is expected to be listed at a price of about $400,000. The Swiss company Rinspeed has said that it is a technological break through and would work for the further improvements in it. 'Its a 30 year dream come true' - says Rinspeed.

Reports suggest that the booking has already started, but the company plans to start the sale after the Geneva show. This car will truly transform us into James Bond.

Do Bats Really Drink Blood ?

Do bats drink blood as we have read in some fictions and seen in films ? We have for long wished to know the answer for this. Let' see if we can get an answer to this.
Bats are always compared and associated with vampires, halloween and other scary things but did you know that not all bats drink blood. In fact the shape of the bat’s skull can indicate the food it eats.

The bats with thicker jaws and bigger teeth, eat hard-shelled insects such as beetles, and hencethese bats are called insectivores. The other bats with thick jaws but with blade-like teeth prefer hard fruits, such as figs and are called frugivores.

The bats with longer skulls and bigger brains prey on other small animals and are carnivorous in nature. The bats with long but narrow skulls like to eat nectar and are called nectarivores whilst the bats with long snouts are sanguinivores, that is these bats have a like towards blood. The long snout houses the tongue that is used to lap up blood. These kind of bats usually come out at night and are usually found only near huge caves in hilly areas.

So although some bats do drink blood, a large majority don’t. Hence, it's true that some species of bats do drink blood !!!

Cant Beat the Beatles

Music has always been an integral part of our lives. Different people listen to different variants of music. Once there was a great English Band known as BEATLES. The group comprised of 4 musicians namely, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, John Lenon, Paul McCarthy.

The Beatles became world famous with their song titled ‘Love Me Do’’ which was immediately followed by ‘Please please Me’. After that, there was no looking back for the Beatles. It is estimated that, over 1 billion CDs and tapes were sold by a music company with which they were a associated with.

The Beatles separated in 1970 though some became popular by solo singing. Also at the age of 40, John was shot dead. After 15 years of John’s death, the other 3 reunited. The three however expressed their disinterest in giving live shows once again. Though their music life was green, their real life was pathetic.
